Why The Sale of Bernardo Silva Will Be Manchester City's Biggest Transfer Blunder

     Elusive, creative, dynamic.

These short words sum up the play-style of Bernardo Silva perfectly, from his fancy footwork to his silky passing, Bernardo has become one of the best midfielders in the world.

Gaining real recognition after Monaco's surprise run in the 16/17 Champions League, Silva was sought after by many big clubs, including Manchester City, which, in the summer of 2017, he signed a 5 year contract.

While playing a substitute role in their centurion season, in which they collected 100 points, Silva became an integral part in their 2018/19 title defense, seeing him shine in a central midfield role, rather than his natural role on the wing.

Silva has always been a catalyst for forward movement, using his footwork to open up space for runs in behind, or taking it in the box himself. His small size allows him to weave in-and-out of danger to free up teammates and draw "tactical fouls."

Still, Silva is criminally underrated by almost everyone, and only if Manchester City sell him will fans truly realize just how major a role he plays.

Silva has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave, and 2 offers have been put on the table, one from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. This plays into the hands of Pep Guardiola's overhaul in the transfer market this summer, as City are eyeing major names like Harry Kane, Jack Grealish, and Houssem Aouar to charge for that slippery UCL trophy.

Losing a creative midfielder that has silently contributed so much for City will prove disastrous for the upcoming campaign. His prowess and work ethic going forward are two qualities that will be very hard to replace, if they can be at all.

The issue here is with Guardiola.

Guardiola is very single-minded. Watching City for the last couple years has shown me that Pep is an unmovable object, which can be beneficial in some instances, and calamitous in others. When it comes to player relationships with Pep, some can be fruitful (i.e Phil Foden), or rotten (i.e Joe Hart, Yaya Toure), based on who Pep wants to bring in to replace them.

Bernardo may feel like he might not have a solidified place in the squad next season, leading him to seek newer pastures in La Liga.

Simply put, Silva is a unique player that can improve from his already incredible seasons at City, and his departure might cause a less than ideal finish for the Sky Blues.

New Season, New Predictions. Predicting the 2021-2022 Premier League Table

As the curtain is about to be raised on a new Premier League season, everyone loves to speculate on who will triumph, and who will crash and burn.      As customary before the start of the season, I will be giving my predictions on how the Premier League table will look on Championship Sunday in 2022.       Let's get right into it starting with the teams that will be relegated.      20. Norwich City- Recently promoted Norwich City will struggle in the league, just as they did in the 2019-20 season, where they finished dead last. However, with the recent signing of Chelsea young talent Billy Gilmour in the midfield, as well as finisher Teemu Pukki, Norwich may fair a bit better than their previous EPL season.      19. Brentford- Brentford may not be a name many are familiar with, as they have spent a majority of their recent history in the Championship, but they do have a couple bright prospects that co...

Why Every Top Premier League Club Should Watch Alexander Isak

Move over Zlatan, Sweden has a new clinical playmaker.        If you've been watching Euro 2020, more specifically, the games in which Sweden has participated in, you might think Zlatan Ibrahimovic was still playing.      Tall, prolific and technical; not to mention from Sweden, Alexander Isak has shown the world that the comparisons to Zlatan are no fluke.      Alexander Isak is a name that many may not be familiar with, but after his recent season with Real Sociedad, in which he netted 17 goals, clubs in need of a promising young forward should look no further.      While Isak has yet to score in the group stages of Euro 2020, no one can deny the impact that he has had on the matches he has appeared in. He looks lively, creative and his long strides help him blow past defenders.      Tall players are going out of style in Europe now, with many scouts and teams focusing on small, maneuverable ...
